Rooks Oak West Sussex
Construction of a New 6 bedroom house in the South Downs National Park
The house is clad in Oak sourced from a local sawmill less than 10 miles from the site. This along with the cat slide roof and plain clay roof tiles makes a very traditional but impressive Barn style home.
We built this house using our Super Advanced timber Frame which has a U-value of 0.14, this along with the triple glazed timber windows with an average U-value of 1.1 meant that the house was incredibly well insulated and took very little to heat.
Originally a 4 bedroom house but midway through the build it was decided to reconfigure the layout by mirroring the Master and Guest bedrooms to maximise the view over the south downs and build up into the roof to create two extra bedrooms and a reading area on the galleried landing.
